Positively Muskegon events for March

Andy O'Riley shows us some of the must-see events happening in Muskegon this March.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If you're looking for things to do in the Muskegon area this March, look no further!

Andy O’Riley from Positively Muskegon gives a rundown of all kinds of events coming to the area that you don’t want to miss!

March 7 – The Ride at Mercy Health Arena!  It’s a stationary bike race comprised of around 60 teams that battle it out for time, team spirit bragging rights and of course good health.  It’s a fun event but there is a BIG purpose behind it.  The funds raised go to help those who receive Mercy Health’s world class heart care in Muskegon get the follow up they need.  From specialized equipment to scholarships to participation in rehabilitation, this is an amazing outreach and community benefit for anyone impacted by heart issues in Muskegon!  16 years and going strong.  A great way to build community and help others. March 14 – The Muskegon St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  Steps off at 11 a.m. at 4th and Clay and it’s a great parade!  The cost to participate in the parade is nonperishable food items that the Muskegon Jaycees will be marching along the route to collect from fans.  With all of the bars, restaurants and breweries now only a street away from the parade route, you might as well stick around and celebrate the wearing of the green in Muskegon.

March 18 and 19 – West Michigan Student Showcase at the Frauenthal Center.  We take the take the time to celebrate our students for all of their accomplishments.. including arts and academics, athletics, digital media arts, literary arts and more. Tickets are on the Frauenthal website and it’s a show not to be missed!

March 30 – Holocaust Survivor Irene Miller  - She’s going to tell her story of surviving one of history’s most difficult stories.  She’s survived the unthinkable, but is said to bring a positive message.. the message is love and the joy of living.  This is a free discussion and a chance to hear living history.   **UPDATE: Due to high interest with the Holocaust Survivor, Irene Miller event, the event will now take place at MCC Sturrus Technology Center, which is in downtown Muskegon across from Hackley Park.

March 21 – Muskecon 4 -  It’s an awesome con!  The Delta by Marriott Downtown Muskegon is the spot and you can come immerse yourself in everything toys, games, costumes, movie super fans, collectibles, art and artists.  The place is packed with energy, fun and excitement.  It’s fun for the whole family and it’s only $5 to get in and kids 12 and under are FREE.
