May 4: The Women's Division Chamber of Commerce Presents Fashion and Frolic with the theme "springtime in Paris" at the Holiday Inn Muskegon Harbor. They have a style show, they have a local market of cool stuff, dinner and silent auction. WDCC benefits a lot of local charities. Tickets are $35.

May 7: The 97th Annual Muskegon Motorcycle Club Spring Run. Free! This is most likely Muskegon's longest running event and hundreds and hundreds of bikers meet up at Mt. Garfiled and enjoy a scenic ride all over Muskegon. The MMC is a group with a lot of heritage and something to be very proud of.

May 11: The opening of the Edward S Curtis Exhibit "The North American Indian" at the Muskegon Museum of Art. A renowned successful celebrity photographer, Curtis threw it all away to pursue a 30-year obsession that nearly destroyed him. In the end, he lost his wealth, fame, marriage, and health, but left behind a monumental achievement: The North American Indian. Goes thru September.

May 20: Go Topless! 2nd year event put on by Outback Wheelers where Jeep owners are encouraged to strip the top off the vehicle. Meet up is at Fricano's on Muskegon Lake. They'll have a jeep cruise all over the area and then come back to Fricano's for food, music and fun after.

May 20: The Armed Forces Salmon Assault - The Muskegon Charter Boat Association is proud to present the 6th annual charity veterans fishing event, the Armed Forces Salmon Assault, to honor our servicemen and women. This year's annual event will take place on May 20th on Lake Michigan with a half day of fishing and return to Bluffton Bay Marina/Bayside Centre for a luncheon and awards ceremony. Their goal is to have 30 boats participate and host around 120 West Michigan area veterans.

May 24: Fruitport Old Fashion Days Kicks off and runs thru the Holiday weekend. Midway, music, games fireworks etc…everything you hope for in a small town carnival.
