You may hold the answer to the cure for cancer

All of Us Journey Bus looking to add participants to largest health research study in U. S.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — There is an historic effort underway to help find cures for diseases like cancer, dementia and Parkinson's and you can help find those cures. Not through money or donations, but by participating in one of the largest health research projects in the United States.

It's called All of Us. It's sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. Steve Curran and Luis Astacio are traveling the country in the All Of Us Journey Bus asking for participants to register.

They rolled into Grand Rapids on the All Of Us Journey Bus to talk more about the research project.

All Of Us is a research program that uses precision medicine to treat diseases based on the individual's biological, environmental, and behavioral influences.

"Precision medicine is treating people individually as oppose to one size fits all," Steve Curran, the All of Us tour manager said.

They are in town to recruit new members to be in their data set that is accessible to researchers from around the world, according to Curran.

"The only information anyone knows about you aside from your profile on the survey is your alpha numeric number and your zip code. Your zip code is your environment and that is very important," Curran said.
