Cottages at Martin Lake bring new luxury senior living to West Michigan

The new luxury senior living home is active for seniors age 55+ and is located on Martin Lake near Fremont, Mich.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Cottages at Martin Lake new luxury senior home gives seniors a start to a new life. Seniors have lived their lives, they’ve worked and raised families, and now they deserve something nice to retire to.

The Cottages at Martin Lake is senior living home for active seniors age 55 located on Martin Lake, 3088 S. Van Wagoner Ave. Fremont, Michigan. 

Anna Hunt, a Registered Nurse with varied experience from Labor & Delivery to Hospice and graduate from Calvin College, recently bought the property on Martin Lake from her 86 year old father, who loved spending time on the lake. 

Hunt was inspired by her father and the huge need for seniors who don’t want to live alone or need just a little bit of extra help, decided to build The Cottages at Martin Lake.

"This is a place for Seniors to “Keep on Living”," said Hunt. "Seniors have lived their lives, they’ve worked and raised families, and now they deserve something nice to retire to."

The estate has brand new construction designed for optimal enjoyment and comfort. The senior home can have six seniors. Singles or couples. It has five suites, four singles, and one deluxe for two.

All suites face the water with individual sliders to the patio and have individual climate control.

The estate is designed for seniors who are still mostly independent but will have the benefit of someone looking after them.

The Cottages at Martin Lake provide housing, all meals, cleaning, laundry, and medication management.

Extras include: Exercise equipment, walking trails, boat dock, lake access, raised garden beds, a bocci ball court, and routine Pontoon rides.

So why should senior live at the Cottages at Martin Lake, you ask? 

Studies show that seniors live healthier, happier lives in community along with good nutrition and proper medication management. It’s your Lake House without the work! Stop worrying about the yard or house and start doing what you enjoy.

Hunt's design is operated to be a place where families will want to come and visit! On Friday's there will be some type of pizza night and every Saturday morning will be a pancake breakfast. How fun to go have pancakes with grandpa and then go fishing! 

Hunt will also be hosting parties that residents can invite their families and staff will do the work. .

To have peace of mind, there will be weekly RN visits to see if there are any changes or needs that need addressing. The Cottages at Martin Lake is independently owned and is in the process of getting licensed by the state.

Hunt lives next door and will always be close by if anyone every needs anything. Residents won’t be a number; they will be her neighbor.

There will be a open house on Saturday, June 29th, from 8 a.m. until noon. Tour the home, enjoy a light breakfast, fish off the dock, and take a Pontoon Ride on Martin Lake weather permitting.
