Hearing loss is common but don’t wait to have it treated

If you find yourself straining more often to hear the details of a conversation or enjoy the dialogue during a play or movie, you are not alone.

Hearing loss is common among people over the age of 50. Significant hearing loss affects one-third of people aged 50-64 and one-half of adults aged 65-79.

Dr. Karen Jacobs is an audiologist with AVA Hearing Center and we spoke with her about the latest advancements in treating hearing loss.  She says the earlier people seek help, the better they acclimate to hearing aids.
