LMCU Bridge Run offers 5K, 10 mile run and has a charity component

The Lake Michigan Credit Union Bridge Run consists of a 10 mile run, or a 5K run/walk so people with all different experience levels and abilities can participate.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Lake Michigan Credit Union Bridge Run will begin at Rosa Parks Circle and the course will take participants over Grand Rapids’s historic bridges, past the Grand River, through parks, and then to the finish line on Monroe Center Street.

Those who would like to run or walk in the Bridge Run can register by September 14 via the run’s website, www.thebridgerun.com.  Lake Michigan Credit Union members receive $5 off the registration cost using LMCU.  Also available on the site is the option to participate in the Virtual Bridge Run (10K and 5K.) Those who cannot make it to the run in-person may participate virtually by plotting what their own personal Bridge Run will look like and running that course. A portion of race entry fees will be donated to our charity partners.

The LMCU Bridge Run is supporting the No Surrender Running club, a group of runners that gets at-risk urban youth to run half marathons. This experience helps to teach the participants about goal-setting, working hard towards goals, and to increase their internal motivation and self-esteem.

Additionally, LMCU will be supporting the GR8 Sports, Great Kids program which provides free athletic program access to elementary and middle school students in the Grand Rapids School system schools.  Lastly, they will be helping MyTEAM TRIUMPH which is an athletic ride-along program geared towards children, teens, adults, and veterans with disabilities who otherwise would not normally be able to experience endurance events like triathlons or road races.
