Spectrum GTG: Standup for the Cure coming to Muskegon

Spectrum Health will have booths with games, information about cancer prevention and health and wellness, and a photo booth at the event.

Women and men alike fight breast cancer every day. The "Standup for the Cure” event is a chance for the community to come together and show their support. Gerri Roobol, Spectrum Health Cancer Center Director of Cancer Services and Jessica Majerle, Spectrum Health Cancer Center Event Coordinator, stopped by to tell us more about this fun event.

“Standup for the Cure” recognizes Susan G. Komen’s efforts to save lives through early detection, research, treatment and education. Saturday, July 7 marks its fourth year in Muskegon at Harbour Towne Beach and emphasizes healthy and active lifestyles to reduce your risk factor for breast cancer.

As title sponsor for the event, Spectrum Health will have booths with games, information about cancer prevention and health and wellness, and a photo booth. Attendees can also take advantage of Spectrum Health’s new 45-foot, mobile mammography unit which will be on hand at the event. If you have not had your yearly mammogram, you can schedule your appointment at Standup for the Cure. The proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen Michigan, which helps uninsured and under-served women in the community.
