The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts’ (UICA) is inviting the public to its 29th Annual Holiday Artists Market on December 2, 2017 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. The Saturday event will take place at the Steelcase Town Hall, and will feature over 75 local and regional artists, as well as local food and beverage vendors and entertainment. Thanks to Presenting Sponsor Steelcase, Inc., the Holiday Artists Market will once again transform Steelcase’s expansive Town Hall into a festive holiday fair for all ages.
“UICA's Holiday Artists Market is one of my favorite holiday traditions," shared Alaina Clark, Holiday Artists Market participant and local artist. "People love this event and I appreciate how it brings everyone together. It means so much to see folks come out and support both UICA and the artists involved. This event provides an atmosphere where everyone can come together, support creatives, shop for their loved ones, and meet new people."
UICA’s Holiday Artists Market is one of the few local outlets for artists to sell their wares during the holiday shopping season, and one of the downtown Grand Rapids’ contemporary arts center’s leading artist-centered events.
The selection of curated gifts available at the popular holiday event includes jewelry and wearable designs, home goods, fine art, holiday cards, leather goods, ceramics, and more. The sprawling Steelcase location allows the event to host more than 75 local and regional artists and artisans, many of whom return each year to participate in the holiday event. A full list of participating artists can be found at uica.org.
New to the 2017 market, guests will enjoy expanded food and beverage options including Lantern Coffee, Malamiah Juice Bar, Pizzailomi Wood Fired Pizza Truck, D&D Gluten Free Food Truck. The featured entertainment will be holiday songs performed by the City High Middle School Chorale, which is led by Darla Jewell and WYCE - 88.1 will be broadcasting live-onsite playing both holiday and local music.
