ROCKFORD SCHOOL PLANS | Rockford Public Schools has revealed its back to school plan and said students will begin learning online for the first three weeks of school. The superintendent hopes in-person learning can begin again, but there will be an option to continue online learning even after the first three weeks.

MASKS AT DAY CARE CENTERS | Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order Thursday that will require face masks in all child-care centers and camps. Face coverings are not required for children who are medically intolerant, under the age of 2, taking part in high-intensity activities, socially distanced outdoors or eating. 

STIMULUS BILL STALLS | Lawmakers still haven't come to an agreement on the latest stimulus bill. Democratic leaders accused Republicans on Thursday of proposals that would 'nickel and dime' children. Republicans said Democrats were just stonewalling negotiators. The goal had been for an agreement to be made Thursday.

RECORD VOTERS TUESDAY | A record 2.5 million votes were cast in Michigan’s primary, as people took advantage of no-excuse absentee voting amid the coronavirus pandemic. The count surpassed the previous record of 2.2. million from 2018. Nearly one-third of the state’s voting-age population participated.
