MUSKEGON HOUSE FIRE | Crews battled a house fire in Muskegon early Friday morning. It took a few hours to put out, but no one was inside at the time. It's not clear what started the fire, but it is under investigation.

UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS | The weekly $600 unemployment benefits expire Friday. The White House offered a short-term extension Thursday, but Democrats rejected it, saying President Donald Trump’s team failed to grasp the severity of the crisis. 

RAPID CHANGES | Starting Saturday, Aug. 1, the Rapid announced changes to the fare payments and the elimination a "fare free zone" downtown Grand Rapids.
