Training for a Triathlon: How one organization helps disabled athletes cross the finish line

myTeam Triumph participates in dozens of local races every year.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — If there's a will, there's a way!

myTeam Triumph (mTT) has been helping disabled athletes compete in races for years, and mTT will be competing in the upcoming Grand Rapids Triathlon.

The nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing an excellent experience to those unable to compete unaided.

Disabled athletes, called "captains," will race with the aid of their "angels" on June 9. mTT is still looking for athletes to volunteer as angels for the triathlon.

mTT is at nearly every large race in West Michigan, including running events, biking events and triathlons. Check out their list of events and sign up here.
