What's Up this Weekend: Valent-ICE, Stars Wars night at the Griffin's game

From a celebration of love and ice, to a STEM event for girls, there's a lot of cool things happening in West Michigan this weekend.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Every Tuesday we're helping you plan for the weekend with the help of GRkids.com. Why Tuesdays? It's so you have plenty of time to plan ahead. Here's a look at what's up.

It's four days of frozen fun. Celebrate winter in West Michigan with the Valent-ICE World of Winter festival. It starts on Valentines Day which is Thursday. Rosa Parks Circle is the epicenter for ice skating, ice sculptures, Hungry Hippo on the ice...even ice painting this year.

Want to foster a love of STEM subjects in your daughter? A Fall in Love with STEM event is happening at Hope College in Holland this Saturday at 9 a.m.
STEM faculty and students are hosting workshops and activities for middle school girls. Extracting DNA from a banana and using green chemistry are just two of the highlights.

Star Wars fans this Saturday's Griffins game is the one for you. The game starts at 7 at Van Andel Arena. The Griffins take on the Rampage. Your favorite characters will be in attendance and families are encouraged to dress up too.

Learn about the life of Roger B. Chaffee during the Grand Rapids Public Museum's "Roger That" event this weekend. Activities, including 6 different planetarium shows are happening throughout the day on Saturday. Activities are included with general admission, the shows are 4 dollars.
