Man sells booby-trapped boxes to scare porch pirates away

A homeowner was so fed up with his packages being stolen off his front porch, he created a device to get back at would-be porch pirates.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Washington state man says he was so fed up with his packages being stolen off his front porch, he created a device to get back at would-be porch pirates.

The device, called the "The Blank Box," is a decoy package with small, but loud explosive inside. The device detonates any time a person picks up the blank box.

Check out the video below that shows the Blank Box rattling a woman who was on her way to pick up the decoy package.

The man who created the box, Jaireme Barrow, said on his YouTube page he rigged the box with a 12-gauge shotgun blank so it would detonate once the box is picked up.
