GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Funeral services have been announced for well-known Grand Rapids pastor Clifton Rhodes.

Rhodes passed away on Monday, April 17, at the age of 74. He led Messiah Missionary Baptist Church for 45 years.

In 2015, Rhodes was awarded the Grand Rapids Community College's Giant Among Giants award.

He was diagnosed with ALS in 2013.

A public viewing is schedule from 12 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church, followed by an "Evening of Reflections" at 6 p.m.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Kentwood Community Church.
