Barley, BBQ & Beats benefits Hospice of Michigan Open Access program

Hospice of Michigan is the state's largest hospice provider, for more than 35 years providing quality end-of-life care for people regardless of age, diagnosis, or ability to pay.

Hospice of Michigan is the state's largest hospice provider, for more than 35 years providing quality end-of-life care for people regardless of age, diagnosis, or ability to pay.

In order to do that they count on the community for support as volunteers and in fundraising. One such opportunity is an event called “Barley, BBQ & Beats,” a unique celebration showcasing barbecue from leading pit masters, hand-crafted cocktails from select Michigan distilleries and live music from hometown favorites, including Vox Vidorra, Mid-Life Crisis and Fast Hands Blues Band.

We learned what the event is all about from steering committee co-chair Joe Infante from Miller Canfield and Erin Van Epps, owner of Main Street BBQ.

Hospice of Michigan "Barley, BBQ & Beats" will take place on May 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Van Andel Arena.

Tickets are $40 in advance at Ticketmaster or the Van Andel Arena or you can pay $45 at the door.

Each ticket will entitle the holder to three visits to barbecue vendors and three visits to cocktail vendors with the opportunity to purchase additional tastings.
