Claire Fisher, Hospice of Michigan's volunteer services manager in West Michigan, and Gerald Tripp, a dedicated volunteer, joined The Exchange to talk about how impactful volunteering can be.
Volunteers are at the heart of Hospice of Michigan, with over 600 volunteers providing support for patients through companionship, caregiving, complementary therapies, marketing community-service awareness, and administrative roles.
In addition to helping those in need, volunteering can also help you. Medical professionals have found social, emotional and physical benefits to volunteering, such as building self-esteem, alleviating loneliness, and reducing stress.
There’s always a need for volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering for Hospice of Michigan, visit www.hom.org/get-involved or call 616-356-5233.
