GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The weather has gotten warmer and if you're looking for a healthy way to start your spring days -- consider whipping up some delicious smoothies.
Regional Executive Chef Bryan Nader from Trinity Health stopped by to share some simple and easy recipes
Orange Strawberry Smoothie
1-cup strawberries, frozen
½ cup Greek yogurt
½-cup milk
¼ cup orange juice
Kale Smoothie
1 ripe banana
1/3 of a cup of blueberries (60g)
1/3 of a cup of strawberries (50g)
1/2 a cup of kale leaves (remove the hard parts of the stalks) (40g)
1/4 of a cup of milk
1 tablespoon of ground flax seed
1 tablespoon of hemp powder
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of acai
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
Green Smoothie
1-cup almond milk or other non-dairy milk
1 cup destemmed kale leaves or baby spinach
1 large ripe frozen banana, chopped into chunks
1-tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
1-tablespoon chia seeds or ground flaxseed
Pinch of ground cinnamon
1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (optional)
2 to 3 ice cubes
Vanilla Matcha Smoothie
½-1 teaspoon matcha powder
1-cup almond milk
½ small avocado
1 scoop vegan vanilla protein powder (rice or pea will work best in this recipe)
2 ice cubes
