Grand Rapids Symphony still offering tickets to workers affected by government shutdown

The Grand Rapids Symphony doesn't want effects from the government shutdown to keep people from a night out.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Anyone who works for the federal government and was furloughed or unpaid during the government shutdown doesn't have to compromise when it comes to music. The Grand Rapids Symphony is offering two free tickets to federal employees who were affected.

The tickets are good for any upcoming performances through May, except Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on February 1 and 2. Those shows are already sold out.

You can get more information by visiting the symphony's website. If you want to take advantage of the free tickets, you must be able to provide verification of your job, and office or agency, to confirm you are eligible.

There are also other programs in place for low-income households to attend concerts for a reduced cost. You can learn more about them here
