Students gift Grand Rapids Home for Vets a gingerbread replica of facility

Students from the Kent Career Tech Center built a gingerbread replica of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and gifted the facility with the special project.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The holiday season has prompted students at the Kent Career Tech Center to build a gingerbread house unlike most.

The students built a gingerbread replica of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, located at 3000 Monroe NE.

The special project was unveiled to residents and staff at the facility Tuesday, Dec. 18, during a holiday celebration.

The Kent Career Tech Center has 20 career-focused programs and more than 2,400 students both on campus and at four satellites, each offering both college and high school credit. It is one of the most advanced tech centers in the Midwest. Learn more at www.thetechcenter.org.
