This Oceana County home really brings it during the holidays

Nestled between the trees in a sparsely populated neighborhood, this home really lights up the night in a spot that would otherwise be pitch black.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. - In just 20 minutes of hanging out with the Rabe family, I can tell they're everything you'd ever want in a group of friends. They love to smile and laugh and they adore Disney.

So it's not surprising that these are the kind of people who go all out decorating their home for the holidays. Their son Ryan was nice enough to tell me about the work his parents do every year, and I knew I had to make the hour drive from Grand Rapids to Shelby to check it out.

"It just makes me feel happy when you pull in at night time and it's dark out and you just see all the lights dancing around," he told me as he donned his light-up Christmas sweater.

For Ryan, his brother Brandon and his sister Casey, this year's display is nothing new.

"We started it when the kids were small. They liked to see the Christmas lights and each year it's gotten a little bit bigger." said Chris, the Rabe family father.

All the lights plug into a music box which plays holiday hits, and the lights automatically sync up with the music.

"You'll see a lot of Mickey and Minnie, because we love Disney," said Jessica, the family mother.

They also have decorations featuring other cartoon characters, including Frosty the Snowman and Snoopy.
