I say all the time: "If we can't help kids, then what are we even doing on this planet?" Well, an annual summer golf outing raised a ton of money to keep kids fed and healthy.
For the 16th year in a row, the Norm Ginebaugh Golf Classic teed off. The 55 golfers raised—get this—$25,500 to benefit Kids' Food Basket. That doubled what they've raised in previous years. The total included a $10,000 dollar match from title sponsor, Avalon Building Concepts. Kids' Food Basket serves about 6,000 children in Kent County with healthy dinner every weeknight.
This golf outing was in July, but I still wanted to give them a mention, because that's a lot of money for a great cause. The Norm Ginebaugh Golf Classic, Avalon Building Concepts and Kids' Food Basket all get today's One Good Thing.
