One Good Thing: Make-A-Wish goes to Washington

18-year-old Thomas Stephenson from Greenville got a Make-A-Wish trip to Washington, D.C., hosted by Sen. Gary Peters.

WASHINGTON - We all know the good work the Make-A-Wish Foundation does. That work was made all the better by a sitting U.S. Senator who welcomed a young local man to Washington.

Sen.Gary Peters (D-MI) hosted Thomas Stephenson of Greenville. The 18-year-old was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition, but that has in no way stopped his passion for politics. He wanted to have a first-hand look at how Washington works. Make-A-Wish reached out to Peters and they made it happen.

Thomas plans on going into nursing in college. But, he isn't ruling out politics one day in his future. Make-A-Wish, Senator Peters and Thomas Stephenson get today's One Good Thing.
