Today we are recognizing someone who using their hobby to fund a well-known - and very important - cause.

These little snowmen were made by Chuck Lucas.  Chuck lives in Middleville and retired a few years ago.  Since then, he's started carving Christmas figurines.  Each one is unique.  They're painted different colors, some have hats.  He sells them all on his Etsy page.  But - he doesn't keep the money. Every dime is donated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.  This year, Chuck hit his goal of 200 hundred snowmen.

St. Jude's saves lives.  And no child is ever turned away if their family can't pay.  Chuck Lucas and his army of snowmen are one of the reasons why.  He gets today's One Good Thing.

If you have a One Good Thing you'd like to submit - someone or something that makes West Michigan a good place to live - email me with your photos and-or video at
