Betty Ford sculpture unveiled at Ford Museum following annual wreath laying

The annual ceremony included wreathes presented on behalf of President Donald J. Trump, the Ford family, and the crew of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78).

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - A sculpture of former first lady Betty Ford was unveiled during a celebration of the 105th birthday of former President Gerald Ford in Grand Rapids.

The unveiling followed a wreath laying ceremony Saturday at 9 a.m. on the grounds of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.

Members of the Ford family and other officials and guests offered remarks and placed wreaths and floral tributes at the base of the former first couple's tomb.

Afterward, the museum will be open to the public free of charge until it closes at 5 p.m. It's featuring a special exhibit entitled "In Step with Betty Ford: A Celebration of Her Centennial."

The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation is hosting the ceremony.
