Fallen veterans in Grand Rapids honored with wreaths

National Wreaths Across America Day started in 1992.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - This National Wreaths Across America Day, local volunteers in Grand Rapids honored fallen veterans by laying wreaths on grave sites at the Michigan Veterans Cemetery.

A local group has been laying wreaths since 2008, and the national movement started in 1992.

On Saturday, while volunteers in Grand Rapids laid wreaths at the local cemetery, President Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery to observe the thousands of Christmas wreaths left each year at military grave sites.

Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery in Kentwood also participated in the wreath laying.
