Women's Lifestyle: Jessica Ann Tyson and Monica Sparks

The twins joined the 13 ON YOUR SIDE Weekend Morning team to share about what they have "overcome to give back."

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- This month's edition of Women's Lifestyle magazine features two women who have become pillars in the community, identical twins Monica Sparks and Jessica Ann Tyson.

You probably know them best for some of the things they are involved in: Jessica as the co-owner of the Candied Yam and her own PR company, JA PR, Monica as the founder and host of Radio for Divas, a 24 hour talk radio network geared toward empowering women.

What you may not know about is just how inspiring their stories truly are. They joined the 13 ON YOUR SIDE weekend morning team to share about what they have "overcome to give back."

The two were born to a heroin-addicted mother, then experienced abuse at the hands of a foster parent. At age 8 their lives changed forever when they were adopted by a school teacher from Kalamazoo.

The two say their desire to serve the community was instilled in them by their mother.
