Meet Angel! An 8-year-old Domestic Shorthair that loves to be pet, brushed, and chase strings!

Humane Society of West Michigan would also like you to meet Angel. Angel is an 8-year-old Domestic Shorthair who's been at the Humane Society for several weeks. So far she hasn't had any adoption applications and they'd love to change that. She is somewhat reserved, but not in a bad way. She loves to be pet and brushed and loves playing. Her favorite toy is a string! Her ideal home would be relaxed and where she would be the only cat.

National Chip Your Pet Month - May is National Chip Your Pet Month and Humane Society of West Michigan wants to remind you of the importance of having your four-legged family member chipped. They also want to help you understand what a chip is and the procedure involved.

A chip is one of your pets best hopes of coming home if they end up lost. You can click here for more information on chipping your pet.

Baby Pet Seminar - HSWM also wants your pets to be ready for that new baby that might be on the way. The  and so they're hosting a Baby Pet Seminar on Saturday, May 11. The seminar will take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Humane Society of West Michigan say that one of the biggest reasons that animals are surrendered is due to them not adjusting well to a new baby in the home. You can start your pet off right by preparing them.

The event will be happening at the Humane Society of West Michigan's Training Center (3077 Wilson Dr. NW). You can pre-register for the event by emailing notanoveskey@hswestmi.org. There is a $10 suggested donation per attendee. The seminars will continue to be held on select Saturdays.
