Local pharmacy raising money for animal shelters

Local pharmacy asks if Grand Rapids is a cat town or a dog city with fundraiser.

Helping out animals could be as simple as donating to a local pharmacy.

Keystone Pharmacy is asking people in Grand Rapids to make their voices heard by donating to their fundraiser this summer.

It is a competition to see if Beer City USA loves cats or dogs more.

Until July 31, donations will be accepted to help three cat rescues - Carol's Ferals, Vicky's Pet Connection, Crash's Landing, and three dog rescues - Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary, Luvnpupz, and Hearts of Hope Dog Rescue.

When you make a donation, you have the choice to help either dog rescues or a cat rescues. Whichever gets the most donations, wins the competition. Donations can also include wish-list items like paper towels, crates, collars, leashes, toys and cat litter.

To celebrate the end of the competition, Keystone Pharmacy will host a hot dog stand serving Yesterdog hotdogs with all proceeds going toward the six rescues. That will take place on Wednesday, July 25 at Keystone Pharmacy on Cascade Road from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
