GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - If you're looking for an excuse to shop local and support small businesses, look no further than the Holiday Shop Hop. Customers can peruse around Uptown while taking in the sights and sounds of local boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops offering up limited time sales.
Katelyn Kronsage of Rock Paper Scissors believes in the importance of shopping local. "It's really bumps the 'little person' up," she said. "It feels good."
Rock Paper Scissors is a consignment shop that will be offering a number of deals at their location.
Shop Hop coincides with the peak of the holiday shopping season as well. One classic gift for the holiday season is candles. "There's lot of shopping to be had here during Shop Hop," Linnae Satterlee of Wax Poetic Candle Bar chimed in.
Wax Poetic Candle Bar is running a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" campaign as part of their Shop Hop campaign. In addition to that, there are well over 20 businesses that will be participating in Shop Hop.
The event begins at 4 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m. on Dec. 6. There will also be free shuttles running during that time.
