While being a dad brings great responsibility and even a little stress, the latest men's health research says dads live longer, happier, healthier lives.

Father's Day is coming up this weekend and research says you can now add being healthier to your list of dad qualities!

While being a dad brings great responsibility and even a little stress, the latest men's health research says dads live longer, happier, healthier lives.

Here are a few ways:

1. Dads have a lower risk of heart problems. Researchers have found they are 17% less likely to die of cardiovascular disease.
2. They say engaged dads, meaning those who are active in their child's life reap the benefits because their children help boost the feel-good hormones in your body that protect your heart.
3. Dads a have lower testosterone levels. Lower testosterone not only lowers your risk of prostate cancer, it also makes you a more nurturing father which improves your family bonds with your children.
4. Dads are less likely to be depressed. Researchers found that dads who have good relationships with their kids have lower levels of depression even if they didn't live in the same home as their children.

So, even though you might feel overwhelmed from time to time -- remember that being a dad is good for your health.
