MudPenny is coming to Ada

The Grand Rapids-based coffee bar that started as a coffee cart is opening its second location in the heart of Ada Village.

ADA, Mich. — Grand Rapids' MudPenny is opening a second location in Ada.

The coffee bar and roaster shared the news Tuesday morning. Owner Matthew Fuller plans to open a 2,600 square foot restaurant in the heart of Ada Village that will offer breakfast and lunch menus, full coffee bar with house-roasted coffee and fresh, organic juices.

The goal is for the Ada MudPenny to open in early 2020 at 496 Ada Dr. SE. Details for the grand opening will be shared with the Ada community as that date gets closer.

“It’s an honor to be a gathering spot for people of all different backgrounds,” Fuller said.  “We really care about every customer that comes through our door and we believe everyone deserves excellent service.”

MudPenny started as a coffee cart in the lobby of the Waters Building in Grand Rapids. In December 2018, Fuller and the MudPenny team opened their first full restaurant on Grandville Avenue SW in the Roosevelt Park neighborhood.
