Consumer Wrap: BBB still warning about Kalamazoo-based online business, and other consumer news

An online business that allegedly scammed people out of money over the holidays, is still taking orders

An online business based in Kalamazoo is still taking orders, despite reports that it allegedly scammed people out of money over the holidays.

Around the holidays, the Better Business Bureau of West Michigan received several complaints about Storm Media and its affiliated business -- and those websites are still active.

According to the BBB, Storm Media and its affiliated businesses, have allegedly been scamming consumers by failing to deliver products, providing false tracking information, and ignoring consumer complaints. The company seems to be operating under names that include Living Chic, Make Trendy and Little Playland.

The company has a physical address listed in Kalamazoo at a nondescript, unverifiable strip mall.

When BBB tried to contact Storm Media, the business failed to respond to phone calls, emails, and letters regarding the complaints.

The BBB suggests doing your research before buying, and be sure to buy from businesses with readily available contact information. If a consumer has questions or issues, they should be able to contact the business.

All of Storm Media's websites appear to be similar and there is no way to talk to a customer service representative.
