In the past three weeks, gas prices in the Grand Rapids area have fallen 40 cents in just the past three weeks.

At the beginning of November, prices reached nearly $3 a gallon, the highest price since 2015.

Triple-A says the statewide average is $2.53 a gallon, and West Michigan's average is about ten cents lower than that.

But make sure to enjoy the relatively low prices while they last.

Fuel analyst Patrick DeHaan says those prices are nearing the point at which gas stations lose money, which could prompt a price hike this week in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
