Try It Before You Buy It: 3 Kitchen Gadgets

We try out a melon slicer, French fry slicer, and bag stands that will give you an extra helping hand in the kitchen. Do they work? We Try It Before You Buy It!

Is there an easier way to slice watermelons and pineapples? To cut your French fries and a great way to get a helping hand in the kitchen?

We have three products we are trying today.

Let’s Try It Before You Buy It!

First up, a melon slicer, built like a dangerously large apple slicer, it seems to be sturdy and has a comfortable grip.

We prepped a pineapple to be sliced and applied the cutter and all our weight.

But you will need to wait to see the results.

Next, we tried the bag stands.

It was super simple to set up, and they held our bags with no sense of slipping. They worked as advertised.

Now back to that pineapple.

After five minutes of trying to get it to slice, we gave up. The only thing it did was give it a nice tattoo. But will it slice a melon?

We prepped our melon for some slicing and applied the unit that had pressed down with equal pressure. Did it work?

One more product before we get to that

If you are looking for a quick way to make homemade fries, this fry slicer might do the trick. We prepped a few potatoes by slicing off the ends and placing them on the blades. This has an easy-to-push design and sliced the fries in no time at all. Also, clean-up was a breeze.

And now the moment we have all been waiting for...

After ten minutes of rocking, pushing and slamming, we got through the watermelon. Still, as we were putting all our weight on this device, it started coming apart at the seams. for this one, we will stick to the old ways of slicing a watermelon.

The melon slicer, in our opinion, even if it worked as advertised, is not a safe tool because of its size and sharp blades. There is no good way to store it.

The fact it started to fall apart while being used makes this unsafe. There was no sense of security while putting your body weight on a product that could snap back at you. So, a thumbs down.

But the fry slicer worked great. The only negatives are it can get tricky with some potatoes, and it has a few parts to lose.

The bag stands worked great as well and folded down nicely, and it is easy to clean with no negatives.
