Are there some holes in your house?

Looking to get your walls back in shape?

The Erase-A-Hole promises to be a quick and easy solution to fill holes in your walls.

Is it? Let Try It Before You Buy It!

The Erase-A-Hole comes in a huge Chapstick-style container. To get the amount you need out, all you do is break the seal and twist the end.

Today we decided to test the Erase-A-Hole against a typical patch compound you’d find in a store. The patching mixture and scraper run about $8.50, while the erase a hole is about $10.

We set up three tests. First, I drilled four holes, and put some anchors in the top ones, and then pulled them out to make the holes a little bigger. Then as icing on the cake, we knocked the wall with the back of a hammer.

With the damage done, we tackled the first hole. With the Erase-A-Hole, we opened it twisted a little product out, and rubbed the hole in a circular motion. one thing we noticed is that the excess filler started to fall on the ground, so make sure you have something to catch it. After filling the holes, we wiped them with a cloth. We filled similar holes with the patch compound and used a cheap blade to wipe it clean.

We let it dry for about half a day. When coming back we noticed the Erase-A-Hole holes were still not dry. after leaving them to dry a few more hours, and we saw all the holes needed another coat, so we applied another go of compound for each. We did have to do this one more time for the Erase-A-Hole holes

After painting the wall, you couldn’t tell where the holes were. Well, there was one that we didn’t prep as well as we could have, so it was a little bumpy.

The Erase-A-Hole worked as well as the wall patch.

so the results

The positives are:

  • it’s easy to use
  • filled the holes as promised

Then the negatives:
