We Try the Liberty Lift. Can it help get those needing a helping hand?

Don't buy the Liberty Lift until you see us try it.

Are you down and need a hand?

Today we are testing out the liberty lift. It's supposed to help people who need a helping hand while giving proper support to those extending it.

The liberty lift is solid and built like a tank. It's made from hard plastic with soft grips. For the first test, we had an older woman try getting off a couch. She usually has some trouble getting up, so hopefully, the liberty lift can help. It felt simple and easy to use, and she was able to get up with ease!

But when we tested this against just having a normal set of helping hands help her out, there was no difference other than holding a secure hand. And for the person lifting her, there was no difference in stress to the back.

So we moved to the floor test. She usually needs help and uses furniture to help. Even with the lift, she still used the couch.

We even tried someone else to the same results.

From all our testing, this made no real difference in helping someone up compared to using your hands. As long as you help lift them with the proper posture, you'll be good. The liberty lift's biggest flaw is that the person needing help needs enough strength to hold on while being pulled up. If they slip, they will fall.

So our results:

The Positives

  • It's a strong, sturdy build
  • Nice handled grip

The Negatives

  • no different than using a hand
  • it would be best if you had the hand strength to hold on to be lifted

Because it never lived up to the test we performed, but it is a solid item and could help in the right situation, we rate this as a consider it.
