80 children and adults ride adaptive bikes in Grand Rapids

In all, $68,000 was donated to help the children and adults get bikes.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital hosts the Bikes for the Rest of Us event every year to introduce children and adults with physical disabilities to adaptive bicycling.

At Saturday's event, 80 people were able to try out the bikes.

Bikes for the Rest of Us has been an annual event for the past 20 years. Donations from the Mary Free Bed Guild help offset the cost of the adapted bikes.

Therapists with Mary Free Bed also helped make the bikes for each person who registered. In all, $68,000 was donated to help the children and adults get bikes.
