Events: Looking for something to do in April?

The West Michigan Tourist Association shares some events happening in April.

There are a lot of things happening in West Michigan in April. The West Michigan Tourist Association stopped by to remind us about a few events happening early in the month.

The Binder Park Zoo opens on April 17. Visitors will be able to see the park's African Painted Dog pack. Eleven pups were born in late November. African Painted Dogs are a rare and endangered species. The Binder Park Zoo is the only zoo in Michigan with any. The Zoo's 1963 Z.O. & O. vintage train is also back this year. It was out of service in 2018 for a major renovation.

Taste Restaurant in South Haven is hosting a kids cooking class. Kids between the ages of six and twelve can join on April 4 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets go fast so you'll want to sign up early. It's a hands on experience, learning how to prepare meals and it's all geared toward kids. Tickets are $25 and can be bought at the restaurant.

If cooking isn't your thing you might be interested in Battle GR. It's laser or archery tag. There is a battle royale on April 3. The company can set up any kind of situation you would like, and if you enjoy the event on April 3, you can even hire them for birthday celebrations.

The Women's Expo in Hudsonville is happening on Saturday April 13. From 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hudsonville High School's freshman building families and friends can check out spring fashion, trends, home goods, and promotions from local businesses. It's free and includes more than 85 booths, raffle prizes, and giveaways.

On Friday, April 12, the On Tap and Uncorked Michigan Tasting Event is happening at the Muskegon Museum of Art. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. The event brings together beer, wine, and hard cider from Michigan companies along with food pairings. Each ticket includes food samples, five four ounce beer or wine tastings.
