School may be out, but students who rely on their school's lunch program, still need a meal in the summer.

The Michigan Department of Education kicks off their annual "Meet Up and Eat Up" summer food program Monday. The program was created to ensure that students who rely on school-provided meals can still eat during long vacations.

Communities across the state provide meals for kids throughout the summer months in various ways. The Boys and Girls Club of the Muskegon Lakeshore is not only providing fun programs like kayaking and basketball, any child (up to age 18) visiting the club can get a free meal.

You can check the Michigan Department of Education's website for location and service times near you.
