Man faces life in prison for 2016 murder

Kenneth Kirkwood, 39, was shot in the chest during an apparent robbery.

A Kent County jury has convicted 19-year-old Ramon Logan of second degree murder in an August 2016 homicide on Grand Rapids southeast side.

It happened at 1645 College Avenue SE in Grand Rapids on Aug. 22.

Kenneth Kirkwood, 39, was shot in the chest during an apparent robbery. He was sitting on a porch, taking a break from renovation work when he was confronted by Logan, who rode up on a bike.

Kirkwood died in the hospital the next day.

Logan is facing life in prison when he returns to court for sentencing in July.
