Mecosta County bank robbed

The Mecosta County Sheriff's department is investigating a bank robbery in Big Rapids Township.

UPDATE: The bank robber was arrested in Chicago.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Mecosta County Sheriff's department is investigating a bank robbery in Big Rapids Township.

It happened at 12:48 p.m. Thursday July 12, 2018 at the Isabella Bank on M-20 just east of U.S. 131. Police say the suspect demanded money from the bank staff. Police believe he was able to get away in a dark blue four-door Volkswagen.

UPDATE: The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office has identified the Bank Robbery suspect as Nicholas Max Nelson. Police also say he has fled the Big Rapids area to an unknown location.
