SALINE, Mich. — The first reported Michigan worker who died in 2019 was a 22-year-old who was removing Christmas decorations in Saline, Mich. He fell off a ladder on Jan. 4.
According to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), the 22-year-old was working for a Christmas decorating company and was removing decorations at a private home when he fell.
He was removed from life support and died on Jan. 9.
In 2018, MIOSHA recorded 37 workplace deaths.
