GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — Gene Sperling was director of the National Economic Council under Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. He is just as jarred by the new unemployment numbers as anyone.
But, he says before we can do anything about that, we need to address the pandemic, which he doesn't think was handled well to start. Sperling says the economic stimulus bill isn't perfect, but there's a lot of good in there that will help average Americans and their families.
