Grand Rapids Symphony offers sounds of the season

The Grand Rapids Symphony presents Holiday Pops and Cirque de Noël this December in Grand Rapids.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Symphony is offering performances this season to put everyone in the holiday spirit. The symphony presents its Wolverine Worldwide Holiday Pops on Dec. 6 through 9, and Old National Bank Cirque de Noël on Dec. 19 through 20 in DeVos Performance Hall.

This year’s Holiday Pops offers classic carols and other holiday hits, such as the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel’s Messiah, music from the 1990 film "Home Alone" and "You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch."

West Michigan’s Embellish Handbell Ensemble will also perform.

The final Holiday Pops performance is Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. in DeVos Performance Hall.

Tickets start at $18.

This year is also the 10th annual Cirque de Noël, which includes acrobats, jugglers, contortionists and aerial artists, accompanied by Christmas songs.

Tickets start at $32.
