GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — It's the number one cancer killer in the world and claims more lives than breast, colorectal and prostate cancers combined. As with many cancers, early detection is the key to survival, so we sought out the expertise of two members of the Spectrum Health Pulmonary Team, Drs. Marc McClelland and John Egan III. Spectrum health Cancer Center continues to make advancements in the treatment of lung cancer. They are the only health system in West Michigan to offer a lung cancer multispecialty team clinic and this past year their lung cancer screening program was named a Screening Center of Excellence by the Lung Cancer Alliance. The distinction recognizes that Spectrum Health is committed to best practices in quality and standards in lung cancer screening.
