Tips to reduce stress and get better sleep

Stress and lack of sleep can really take a toll on your health.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Lots of sleep and very little stress: that's what many of us wish our lives looked like. But unfortunately for many, it's the other way around, lots of stress and too little sleep. And that can take a toll on our health.

Nick Klein, founder and director Body By Choice joined the 13 ON YOUR SIDE Weekend Morning team to talk about those impacts and how to do better in the sleep and stress departments.

Klein said that high stress levels can contribute to the accumulation of body fat. When it comes to too little sleep your metabolism can be impacted -- forcing your body to take more time to process things like sugar.

When it comes to tips for better sleep, he recommends "Remove all electronics from the bedroom, set up your room like a bat cave, minimize clothing, and sleep in a cool environment."
