GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Police Department says the person of interest in a weekend homicide has turned himself in.
According to the police department, 32-year-old Vincent Walker turned himself in to detectives on Monday, May 15 in connection to the shooting death of Jordan Kyree Brown on Sunday, May 14.
Walker was arrested for firearm charges on Monday and taken to the Kent County Correctional facility. He is not named a suspect and police say he is considered innocent until proven guilty.
Detectives say the investigation into Brown's murder is still underway. Once it is finished, the case will be sent to the county prosecutor's office for possible additional charges against Vincent Walker.
Around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to calls of the sound of shots fired in the 500 block of Highland St. SE. Shortly after, Brown arrived at the hospital and was later pronounced dead.
