Three Chicago men arraigned for passing counterfeit bills

Three men from Chicago were arraigned Monday for trying to purchase items with counterfeit $100 bills.

MECOSTA COUNTY, Mich. - Three men from Chicago were arraigned in the 77th District Court Monday for passing counterfeit bills and criminal enterprise.

Charles Bradley Winston, 18 of Chicago, and Demetrius Dontae Taylor, 24 of Chicago, remain in custody at the Mecosta County Jail on $150,000 cash surety bonds.

Derick D. Taylor, 27 of Chicago, also remains in custody with a $200,000 cash surety bond.

According to the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office, the suspects stole from seven different businesses on at least 10 different occasions.

Detectives continue to work with the U.S. Secret Service and have now been in contact with Kent County and the City of Kalamazoo detectives reference similar crimes committed.
