One man hospitalized in Berrien County crash

The driver of a 2015 Chevy Silverado was ejected from the truck and is in stable condition.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - One man was ejected from his vehicle and transported to the hospital after an accident that occurred at US-12 and US-31 in Berrien County early Saturday morning.

A 22-year-old male from Buchanan was driving a 2015 Chevy Silverado when he struck two traffic signs and failed to stop at the intersection, hitting the rear end of a tractor-trailer semi.

The Chevy truck had heavy front-end damage, and the rear axles of the semi-trailer being towed were also damaged.

The 22-year-old was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Memorial Hospital of South Bend. He is currently in stable condition.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 27-year-old male from Dowagiac, Michigan, was treated at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
