ST. JOSEPH TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Police have arrested two suspects in connection to the murder of an active duty military member on New Year's Eve. 

According to a release from the St. Joseph Township Police Department, investigators received a tip on Friday, Jan. 11 in regards to the murder of Tyrone Hassell III. The information led police to arrest two suspects -- however, no more information was detailed. The county prosecutor's office will release an official statement at a later date.

Twenty-three year-old Tyrone Hassell III was home on military leave visiting family in Benton Harbor. He was shot multiple times on New Year's Eve. He was treated at the scene and then transferred to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
